Student Center As a Place For The University's Community Center and Symbol For Heart - Symbolisme Education
This thesis aims to regenerate the core of campus and create a student magnet in the campus. Using the method "Movement"+Architecture, this thesis is trying focus onthe idealisme of student "Movement" interprate into architecture and the importance of student activities as one of the solution to provide leadership training to student. The proposed site will be choose at the Dataran Agora, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The hypothesis of the thesis is to change the typology design of student center in Malaysia and make that place as a student activities building (train the leader for the future) not a "shopping complex" building!
The methodology of this thesis will be conducted with the combination of methods, both research and design approaches by gathering information, analyzing information, and synthesizing information. The case studies will be selected from local and abroad university that have their character and building layout design. Each of them different and interesting character that can be learn and critics for their function, architectural design and conceptual design. By studying the precedents, this project will have some platforms to stay on instead of starting from the ground zero, and that will provide lessons and examples of student center that have succeeded and failed to develop and maintain their architectural.
